If you want to be a writer and you thought ebook publishing may be the
way to go. Well, you’re right, ebooks are the future.
I’m not saying that print books will go away and be replaced by e-publishing options only, I hope not and I really don’t think they will.
I’m just saying that people want specific information quickly these days and that doesn't look like it's going to change.
E-books are a great way to get the niche specific information you want, and you'll get it f-a-s-t.
Why would you want to write an ebook? Well, there are several reasons, so let’s get started.
let’s talk about what an e-book is, just to be sure we are on the same
page. (No pun intended…really!) An e-book is an electronic book, called
an ebook for short. It is written and saved on your computer and
distributed over the internet through ebook publishing resources.
Once you have written and edited your ebook, and you are ready to publish it, you need to convert it to an PDF file so it can’t be altered in any way, and then decide how and where you will distribute it from. I will talk about e book publishing and distribution options in more detail later, for now, let’s move on to why you want to start self publishing ebooks.
More authors are turning
to writing, publishing and selling ebooks because it is allowing them
to control what they write without having to deal with publishers but
probably one of the most important reasons is because of the money you can make when you write a good one. And writing for money is the goal, isn't it? E-book publishing is the answer.
A great resource to help you get started is this ebook compiler software. It makes self-publishing your own ebooks easier than ever.
Traditional publishing and even using a print on demand publisher can be costly and full of Hassles. There are all kinds of fees involved in producing a print version of your book and maybe you just don't want to deal with all that, but you may find that if your e-book does well, you might just want to consider that option as well.
the real beauty in e-book publishing s mainly that they are very
inexpensive to produce and easy to get out to your customers.
Here is what is involved in producing and self publishing ebooks:
Did you notice that the word time was used quite a lot but the word most people expect to hear when they decide that self publishing a book is for them is the word money?
When you write an ebook, you have an opportunity to make money without spending money.
Here is what you don’t need to produce an e-book:
Once you have spent your time creating, editing, typesetting and formatting your book, you just convert it to an Adobe Acrobat PDF files, upload it to a website, and in a flash, you are ready to sell your e-book!

But you need to understand that in order to make money with your e-book you will need to make sure you have done a few things right:
One advantage of self-publishing ebooks is that you have total control over all aspects of your material such as content, layout, distribution and marketing. You also decide how and where to sell your e-book.
Another is that even if you decide to publish your e-book with a company such as Booklocker.com or MightyWords.com, you will receive a very generous royalty of 30% -70%. And in most cases, you decide the price of your book!
This sounds pretty good doesn’t it? Well, there is even more good news. Probably the biggest advantage in writing and ebook publishing your e-books is that the whole process is rather simple.
It's great when you get to make the decisions and writing and
publishing ebooks lets you do all that!
Okay, you have finished your ebook! It's time to celebrate reaching your goal. Once you do, you will want to take a deep breath and get ready to move on to the next step, ebook publishing.
Now you need to decide how and where you want to publish and deliver your e-book to your customers.
Remember to stay focused on why people purchase e-books. It is all about how your subject matter effects them and of course, instant gratification. If your customer has to wait for your ebook to arrive, they may just decide to look elsewhere for the information and you don’t want that.
There are a few really good distribution options to consider, and I highly recommend that you take a look at each of them. Some may suit you better than others so it's important to do your research.

These are not your only choices however. There are also ebook publishers, who will own the rights to your work.
This is not something I recommend for a few reasons. First, you will be in charge of marketing and promoting your own e-book and this is a large part of the process. And they will get a percentage of the money from your sales, in which were made via your efforts.
Another reason for not going this route with ebook publishing is that you will only have your book listed with this publisher, which is very limiting for your sales efforts. It doesn’t sound fair does it? It’s not. Not in my opinion anyway. I would say this isn't the way you want to go when ebook publishing.
An e-book distributor is more like an on-line bookstore that lists your book available for sale. They handle all distribution and customer inquiries, and you give them a small percentage of your royalties.
This type of company is called non-exclusive distributors, and working with them is a great way to get some visibility for your book and boost your income as well.
If you work with a company like Booklocker.com, they already have customers that trust them and buy from them. Listing your book there, gives you an opportunity to sell to them too.
Now, I talk about Booklocker.com because I work with them and recommend them often. Am I getting anything from them for giving this recommendation? No.
are not even aware that I refer them. This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do
your own research and choose a company that suits your own needs. But I
am very confident that you will see that they are a good, reputable
Please make sure to read all contracts carefully and compare these before you choose one. If you don’t understand something, contact the company and ask. You don’t want to get into something you are unhappy with because if you do, you could end up at the mercy of a company that doesn’t care about you or your e-book.
