A Career in Copywriting

Is The Writer in You
Waiting to Come Out?

Imagine a career in copywriting...

If you’re tired of your job, the hours, the politics and the commute and you’re looking for another way to make your living where you can make some really good money and do something you enjoy, a career as a Six Figure freelance Copywriter might be for you.

If you have ever wanted to escape the rat race, a career in copywriting might be for you!

Wouldn’t it be great to wake up on Monday morning without that obnoxious alarm jolting you out of bed way earlier than you’d like to get up? Think about it seriously for a few minutes. You wake up naturally, get a shower, take the dog out for a walk, and head down to the coffee shop for breakfast and head back to your home office and get started working; writing for money. It’s 11:00 AM.

It looks pretty nice doesn’t it? No stressing in traffic, no boss to have to deal with, no office politics. Well, as a copywriter, this could actually be your work week.

Working with businesses on marketing materials such as ads, newsletters, sales letters, web copy and any type of writing a business would use to educate, motivate, inform or persuade is what you'll be doing.

You are basically helping businesses to let the public know what they have to offer and how it will benefit them. That's what a career in copywriting is all about.

Let’s take a closer look at why becoming a copywriter or commercial writer as it is sometimes called, could be the perfect career for you.

  • First, you would have to like to write and be able to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • You’d have to be able to market yourself to let businesses know you are available to help them get their message out.
  • Many different types of businesses means there is a lot of potential clients for you. The need is unlimited and so are the different types of projects you would do. Let’s face it, now is a great time to control your work life and career. How many people do you know that have been downsized? Wouldn’t it be nice not to have to worry if you are next?
  • This career thrives in any economy. As a freelancer, you will be the one they call when they cut their own writing staff due to downsizing.
  • Great pay! Do you know that as a beginner you could (and should) set your fees at $50.00 an hour?
  • Low investment to get started and low overhead for the long haul. All you need is a computer, a quiet place to work, a phone line, e-mail account and a printer. Oh and business cards too. Think about it, what other business can you start without loans, overhead and hassles.
  • If you despise the same routine, same assignments and crave a bit of variety in your day, you will have it. You may be working on a brochure for a bank one day and a newsletter for a non-profit the next.
  • You would have a great opportunity to leverage what you already know. Do you have a background in the health industry? Engineering? Law? Use what you know and focus on that industry first.
  • Freelance writers wanted. Yes there is a lot of opportunity to break into this career. Businesses need writers and I have to say, this is a great freelance writing gig.
  • You want to start your own homebased small business and have the freedom to control your worklife and income.

It's not a bad life for a writer. I know I live it too. The great part is that you can start this career while you still have a job, if you’re a stay at home mom, in college, or any other circumstances you may be in.

You have full control and can start slow or hit the pavement running; it is all up to you. You may be wondering about what you should do to get started finding freelance writing opportunities.

Well, there are many online copywriting courses available, and yes, some of them are better than others, but I found a course that is the real deal. I took it myself and to be honest, I wondered what I would get. After all, I have bought several courses and paid well over eight hundred dollars for a few of them.

But I will say, I learned more with AWAI's course than I have in some of the courses I paid big bucks for and my assignments were corrected and I was given great advice on how to improve my writing skills. I thought this was such a great course I thought I’d spread the word and hopefully it will help even one writer say goodbye to the low paying writing jobs they are taking and help them to make some real money doing what they love.

If you are serious about starting a career in copywriting you’ll want to get Six Figure Copywriting. It shows you the exact, step by step method of writing explosive sales copy and get you started on a new, high paying, freelance writing career!

Client Testimonials

"A cardinal rule of writing to follow is, never write your own back cover copy. Why? You’re too close to the work and can’t be objective. Enter Maria Pease.

I contracted her services to write the back cover copy for my upcoming novel, Crossing Lives. The only caveat was, my manuscript was nowhere near finished.  Despite this obstacle, Maria took on the project.

Most copywriters won’t touch this type of project unless you can furnish them with a copy of the entire work to be summarized.

In a span of three weeks, with just a few chapters and handful of character sketches to go by, she was able to craft a masterful blurb that captured the essence of the story I’m trying to tell.

Maria communicated with me on consistent basis and took a personal interest in my project. This was a pleasant surprise. Most “work for hire” is cold, aloof, and distant.

I highly recommend Maria Pease for all your copy writing needs."

“Thank you very much for the job well done! I hope we will have an opportunity to work together again in the future."

Timo Kestrel - Website Owner UK

"I needed a website for my new practice and I had no time or skills to do it myself. Thank goodness I met Maria through a business associate. She had my site up and running in no time. She even gave me some suggestions on how to make some affiliate income along with the service I provide.

If you need a writer who listens to what you want and gives great ideas on how to improve it, call Maria. You won't be disappointed."

Sandee West - Marriage & Family Therapist

"Maria has developed a business brochure and numerous newsletters and has been able to interpret the information I give her into professional writing pieces that communicate to my clients the value of my product.

Maria’s professional knowledge has played a large part in portraying my company in a professional light.

Maria Pease has been a pleasure to work with and I feel she would be an asset to any company in need of a commercial writer."

Lisa Beach - The Box Wrap Company

"I needed to update most of our marketing and sales materials including a brochure, a couple of sales letters, tips sheets and some in-house communications. Maria took care of it all and did a beautiful job on all of it. If you are looking for a capable, and enjoyable copywriter to work with, you can stop looking, Maria is your girl."

Wayne Francis - Window and door installation services

"I hired Maria Pease to help me promote my business and have been extremely pleased with her performance. She has developed all of my marketing materials to date including brochures, postcards, and promotional flyers.

Maria is a pleasure to work with, always energetic and enthusiastic about the task at hand. She continues to come up with fresh, new, innovative ideas to help move my business forward. She is dedicated to providing a superior product and has continued to exceed all of my expectations. It has been refreshing to me, as a small business owner, to be able to rely on an outside consultant to be professional, reliable, and self motivated."

Andrea Tomes - New Image Fitness

I have worked with her many times on several different types of projects from articles to websites and more and she never disappoints. She is truly a delight to work with.
