So, you want to be a writer and you thought e-books may be the way to go. Well, you’re right. ebooks are the future of publishing.

As a writer, I am always looking for great freelance writing opportunities that will allow my creative writing ideas to come to life. When writing "how to" ebooks, your descriptive writing talents are very important. You need to be able to break down instructions into small parts and explain them clearly. One of the most popular writing careers today is information publishing. Let's face it, we love information!

Think about it, when there is a subject you are interested in, how many books do you buy on the subject? If you are anything like me, you can't get enough!

How Do I Get Started?

So, what you want to know is how to write an ebook? There is a basic formula to follow that consists of five simple steps.

1. Brainstorming. Think about what you know that can help others solve a problem.

2. Research your chosen topic to see if others need this information and there is not already too much of it out there. Or figure out if you can present it in a different way.

3. Research and organize your information so you can write your ebook and make it easily read and understood. You will have to write, edit and re-write to get it just right!

4. Learn about PDF and why you need it to publish your book! (You can check out free pdf writer software and even try it from adobe free, before you decide to buy it! )

5. Market your e-book with enthusiasm! You can really write about any subject, but finding a niche and knowing how to reach the audience for that niche is what is most important. If you belong to any type of group or club this is something to keep in mind.

What Type of Ebook Sells Well?

These subjects sell well because people crave information and they don’t want to wait for it.

What about experience?

Now, you may be thinking that you don’t have any experience in ebook writing or publishing ebooks but I would bet that you are wrong.

Do you have a website? If so, even if you had someone else put it together for you, you would have had to come up with the content. How about writing a paper for school, or writing a newsletter for your kid’s class? Or a report for your boss? How about a blog or a social site? Do you send e-mail?

You see, anytime you have written something for others to read, you’ve written and published! Cool huh? You are already just about there!
