Marketing Tips From The Pros
Marketing tips from the pros - where successful writers can share their marketing and promotional tips with you!
The greatest reward of being a freelance writer is to earn a good income while working from the comfort of your home. But it's not just about the writing.
Here are a few of my direct marketing tips to get you thinking about what works for you.
* Put a marketing plan in place, a few things you will do every month, and follow through with that plan, no matter how busy you get. You should decide this when you're writing a business plan.
* Network. Yes, I know. We write because we like to be left alone. But in order to keep your business successful, you need to mix and mingle. It's very important to stay visible in your writers market.
* Join online forums, discussion groups, social networking platforms where you can interact with other writers and writing markets. If you have a work overload, you may give it away to another writer whom you know and vice versa. Remember, co-operation makes more sense in the world of freelance writing jobs.
For writing careers, like in any type of business, you must learn to market yourself and your work, which most writers don't enjoy doing.
So, in order to help, I am asking YOU to share your marketing tips!
